Very often, at each of the places I have worked, I would be the main person to organise social, team building events. Be it for Christmas, or any other occasion, I would work with a budget given to me (or worked with no budget at all), to create an event that would suit most peoples likes/dislikes, some raising money for charity.

It's always impossible to suit everyone's taste, but with multiple different themes/types, I always had great feedback and appreciation.

Team Culture

We all know how important it is to keep your key staff members loyal.
Team culture is ESSENTIAL for that reason, achieving the best possible work productivity and comfort in a workplace.
A lot of people struggle to connect with their workmates. Having regular social events will evolve greater connections with their team members, improving communication and teamwork.
However which way it's done - investing in your team is crucial.

As I'm sure most know, it is VERY hard to plan events for multiple different personalities and characters. I know full well, coming from the website agency world, with extroverts and extreme introverts.

As always - no challenge is too big for me, so I would plan a whole heap of different types of events, to cover as many likes and dislikes as possible.

Event Examples

  • Cooking Classes - team challenges

  • Zip Wiring - followed by a BBQ and outside games

  • Ten Pin Bowling

  • Venue Hire - company presentations, followed by a staged casino

  • Loud Shirt Day - raising money for deaf children

  • Craft Workshop - a team member shared her crafty skills with all that wanted to be involved

  • World Cup Themed Shared Lunches - teams work together to bring given country themed food

  • Escape Rooms

  • Scavenger Hunt

  • Lawn Bowls

  • Holey Moley - indoor mini golf

  • Team Challenge Games

  • Dress Up Themes - Halloween, "suited and booted" awards nights

  • Team Walks - group walking at set times, for those that want to stretch their legs from too much sitting and screen time

  • Shared lunches, lunches out, after work drinks
